Feelin' the Pressure

Ok-when I signed up to do this blog thing no one told me about the pressure!  Now, I feel the pressure not only to post but to post something worth reading!  What do I do-tuck tail and run or risk that everyone who reads my stuff will now know that I am really not very funny or wise but will still like me anyway?  HMMMM-I think I'll stick with it because I know at the very least my parents will always read my blog and marvel at how their genetic combination turned out!  Besides, in the last post I already told you lots of yucky things about myself so what have I got to lose?  So today, since I have not had a moment to think of anything original, I will share the wisdom of others that has impacted me this week (in the form of quotes of course!)  I hope to write on some of these subjects later but until then-ENJOY!
"God's love moved Him to sacrifice that which meant to most to Him-His only Son.  Our response, if we truly understand His love for us, is the desire to give back to God that which means the most to us."-Henry Blackaby
"You know with all your heart and soul that not one of all the good promises the LORD your God gave you has failed.  Every promise has been fulfilled-not one has failed."-Joshua 23:14
"A comprehended God is no God at all."-Gerhard Testelgen
"I don't think there is any better worship than wonder."-Donald Miller Blue Like Jazz
"The problem with deep belief is that it costs something.  And there is something inside me, some selfish beast of a subtle thing that doesn't like the truth at all because it carries responsibility, and if I actually believe these things I have to do something about them.  It isn't cool.  I mean it's cool in aReality BitesWelcome to Sarajevo, Amnesty International sense, but that is only as good as dreadlocks.  Chicks dig it to a point, but you can't be all about it; you also have to want a big house and expensive clothes because in the end our beliefs are  about as enduring as seasonal fashion.  We don't even believe things because we believe them anymore.  We only believe things because they are cool things to believe."-Donald Miller Blue Like Jazz
"In the world of faith, particularly, some things have to be believed to be seen."-Philip Yancey Finding God in Unexpected Places
"God is already present, in the most unexpected places.  We just need to make God visible."-Philip Yancey Finding God in Unexpected Places
And my fave this week-"Don, the Bible is so good with chocolate.  I always thought the Bible was more of a salad thing, you know, but it isn't.  It is a chocolate thing."-Donald Miller Blue Like Jazz
Can you tell I've been reading Blue Like Jazz?  I hope you like these and they at the least, make you chuckle or say Hmmmm and at the most direct you to God.
